Lacey We put Lacey down last night.
→[More:] She had gotten to where she could not get up, even with help, and was not eating or drinking. It was time. But even close to the end, I kept thinking that if I could get one more Rimadyl in her, that would bring her back.
It has also been a very hard winter, with cleaning up after her incontinence, having to coax her up the stairs, which were excruciating for her to climb (although she refused to ever use the ramp we had there).
The vet came after she'd had a very hard day and she was wonderful, and Lacey went very quickly and easily.
Someone is coming by to pick her up at 10 this morning, then we will get her ashes back and spread them in this wooded area where she used to run.
