I want to call out lysdexic... For being awesome!

This has been a terrible, bad, no-good week for me. →[More:]My grandfather died, slowly. We had his funeral. The deathcalls just didn't stop coming. It was rainy and yuck. And today I had to make funeral arrangements for a young person who was brutally murdered. I came home feeling lousy. And then my wife asked me, "Who do you know who lives in (LOCATION)?" I racked my brain and couldn't come up with anyone.

She handed me a big box that had come in the mail. Inside was a very kind and thoughtful (and gorgeous!) sympathy card from lysdexic, but EVEN BETTER! There was a bag!

An amazing bag with a note that said, "Emergency Beach Bag" and inside was the following:

1. Sunscreen
2. A Ziploc bag to protect my things from getting sandy or wet
3. A kerchief that her grandfather had given her (you are so generous!)
4. A roll of quarters for vending machines (or perhaps "Gauntlet!")
5. And a towel. An amazing towel! Large, absorbent, red...wonderful! And down in the corner (and this is what made me laugh and cry at the same time) were embroidered the words "Don't Panic."

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is absolutely my favorite book of all time, so this fantastic towel is so damn perfect. Here's a shot of her wonderful gift.

So, publicly...Thank you lysdexic for being so damn awesome and for picking me up when I was down. Your generosity will never be forgotten.
