Can someone explain the joy of hammocks to me? Mostly I just find them awkward and uncomfortable but I want them to be awesome.

aniola - you may not be lying in the right spot for you. The comfiest spot on a hammock is different for everyone and there are different kinds of hammocks.

And of course, MonkeyButter. We're going to have expansive grounds around the Mansion; plenty of room for lots of hammocks.

Expansive grounds we knew. But you need strong trees properly spaced to accommodate a hammocky thing like that. (Where I live there are miles of expansive grounds behind me, but damned few trees) Make sure the MechMansion's groundskeeper is aware as early as possible...
