I love how it tries to slide down the non-snowy part and then goes back to the good sliding section.

Does anyone read the comments way down here?

(Probably the first time I've ever fallen asleep while previewing a comment.)

Ah, but awesomeness is not the province of science, grasshoppa.

Heh, I originally thought it said it was a sledding cow. But a crow is cool, too.

I love to watch this. Though the way he pecks at his "sled", I wonder if he's trying to rip it open?

This is cool.

Too true, Miko. Fortunately the author of this includes a quote from the scientist he interviewed that lays that out:

"I've worked with corvids, various species for 40 years now, and I have no doubt in my mind as a person that they enjoy certain things, playing around kinds of things, but I've never done research about it," Kamil told me. "I have a dog and talk to my dog and think of it as a little human being, but that's as a dog owner, not as a scientist."

After a recent snow here, I saw some of our local corvids (I'm not a birder, so I have no other ID but our local large, black birds) wading through the snow in the street. It was deeper than their bellies, and they were just kind of ambling through it.
