I've been invited to a party in the woods -- with a bonfire, fireworks, food and drinks and so forth. I seem to have come down with a bad cold after today's skiing expedition though, so I may choose to spend it at home nursing a hot brandy instead.

Stay in, read, eat things bad for me and go to bed at 10p. I'm very much looking forward to it.

I don't really remember the last time I did anything for New Year's Eve, so it'll be just like any other night.

Having friends in from out of town. Just hanging at the homestead.

Just a normal Saturday night around here, EXCEPT the partner bought a buttload of fireworks when he went home to Savannah over Xmas, so we may very well light some of those off sometime around midnight.

I think answers should have to be in video form. Fun, y'know.

BoringPostcards, when we drove back from Florida we picked up fireworks as well. Sure we were nervous about crossing state lines with them. But we just had them in the trunk of the car. Much less painful than your partner's way. ;-)

Fireworks are always fun, but I'm more in it for the sparklies than the big bang.
I'd make a video but that would take effort. And I have no idea what I'm doing. None at all. Playing it by ear, I guess, but nothing sounds good, stands out. Maybe we should have a different post about what people would like to be doing. It could be filled with flying robot unicorns and classic cars that crash into each other, exploding into cascading showers of glitter or aesthete cleansing treatments.

My husband will whip up some delicious hors d'oeuvres, plus will make a fire and probably let me roast some of the currently-hidden-away-for-my-own-good marshmallows over it, I will sip some tasty red wine from one of my special stash of bottles, we will check out the NY ball drop on TV at 9 pm our time, and we will try to stay awake for the Space Needle TV celebration at midnight our time. Then we will kiss and go to bed, assuming both of us are still awake for the kiss part.
