Interrupting Mac Migration Assistant First of all Merry (holiday or non-holiday of your choice) Bunnies![More:]

Daughter got a new MB Pro, and we stared migrating files from her white MacBook. No problem.

Well it said that it would take 7 hours (Ethernet cable) to do, and she has to leave in about 3 hours.

If this process is interrupted, will it resume upon starting it again? I am assuming it will but have read several horror stories on various boards.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks.
I just did this, and it was not as easy as previous Mac -> Mac migrations. Mine said it would take 24 hours and ended up taking 32. I stopped it within an hour of starting and it started again from the beginning.

It took 7 hours, so I will have to take daughter's computer up to here during the next few days.

Seems to have worked. If I had to do it over again, I'd have found a firewire but I was not sure if both her old and new one's had it. Mine doesn't.

But I did not want to take a chance of messing anything up so I just let it do its thing.

You did the right thing. It would NOT have resumed.
