The Man Who Broke the Record on 'Let It Bleed': An interesting article about the designer who came up with the iconic album cover. (The original artwork is going up for auction tomorrow.)
That is one thing I miss about the LP record and associated stores: browsing the stacks, and enjoying album art and liner notes as I listen. The digital world hasn't quite figured that out yet. Something tactile, and something there. Maybe the tablet generation will recapture some of that. Remember the great Hipgnosis covers? Sigh....

Sad to say, I never cared much for that particular album cover. Combined with the album title, the art always struck me as something thrown together at the eleventh hour, after record execs rejected the original, highly-offensive cover art. Think: The Beatles' "butcher baby" cover fiasco.
