The Skinny House - A short video from the woman who owns the narrowest house in Boston. It was built as a Spite House.
Neat!

Sweet! I love this house and she seems really nice too.

You see houses like that in Japan because they're a wise use of tiny spaces. (Useful when you're on an island.) How American of us to build 'em just to piss our neighbors off. Our country's what, 25% of a planet wide? But THIS IS *MY* SPOT DAMMIT.

(I'd love to visit the inside of the house, though!)

You could! As she mentioned in the video, vacation rental by owner!

I could live in that house.

Speaking of small buildings, there is also one in our backyard down in Chinatown

There is this one in NYC which has had quite a few famous residents. And there's this one in Alexandria, VA that was in the news a couple years ago (might have even been linked here before). I really like the second one and could move in "as is".

I remember MrMoonPie mentioning he lives in a narrow house as well, but I don't remember just how narrow.

Ohhh, thanks for that link, arse_hat. And for the reminder that Oddee exists.

When my grandfather's neighbor had a fight with the guy on the other side he planted a row of lombardy poplars in front of the man's living room window (which should have had a view of LA). They weren't cut down until Leroy croaked.
