Everything old is new again? After seeing Young Adult last night, has anyone ever hooked up with a high school sweetheart? Say, 10 or more years after graduation.
How was the movie?

One of my teachers in grad school did.

The movie was OK, not great. Not a great choice if you are in grad school and this is the first movie you have seen in several months.

I hooked up with an old college flame 23 years later, does that count? It didn't work out - I should have learned my lesson in college, where it didn't work out, and two years after college, when it didn't work out again. So, three time loser.

My best friend has, for the last year, been in a serious relationship with with the little sister of a high-school girlfriend of his. The originally met around 1970 when she was 11 and he was dating her older sister. Forty years later, she's a widow, he's divorced twice and they hook up and seem to be head-over-heals for each other.

Heh, with a story like that, octo, I'm not sure "head-over-heals" was a typo!

I just got married to a guy I met as a freshman in college (in 1989) and had a huge crush on but never dated. We were really good friends until about four years ago when we started dating, which was approximately a million years after college.

I am currently dating my high school love, some 29 years after we first started dating (in 1982 when I was a junior and he was a sophomore in another high school). We reconnected last year, talked for months before meeting again in person, and have been dating almost a year now. It's funny, because I never stopped thinking of him, how he was, what was he doing now (we dated for over two years, then had an on-off relationship and then just friends for four years after that). Apparently, he never stopped thinking of me, either. Perhaps it's all the other crap I've been through, but I feel like I can really just be me when I'm with him. Blemishes and all. I'm not looking to get married again, we don't live together nor plan to anytime soon (or anytime), but we are together frequently, talk/text every day, and we're both really happy with where we are now.

A couple of my friends just got married -- they met ("for reals") at our ten-year reunion.

Oddly enough, they are actually the second couple to get married this summer with this background.
