Well, that's irritating...I have a number of conflicting thoughts about it. I mean, bonfires are a really old Yuletide tradition and I can hardly think of anything more pagan/Yuleish than burning a giant goat effigy. However, it seems the intent is for the goat to last through the season. you'd like to say "hey, let's enjoy the goat all season and burn it after New Year's," but with all these rogue arsonists that wouldn't work out. Maybe they should put the goat indoors.

I'm torn too, but I kinda like the idea of turning it into something that people bet on
