Awful accident, is every UK bunny ok?? [More:]I just saw this online, and not really knowing where our English bunnies are located, I just need you to check in to make sure you're ok, please.
Yes, I'm fine. It was across the other side of the country, in the west of England. What a horrible accident, so many people dead, and many people injured, some of them catastrophically.

How horrible for those poor people! This is always my fear in heavy fog..

Fog freaks me out on the motorway because people don't slow down: everybody just cruises along nose to tail even when there's not the visibility to stop in time.

Problem is if you dropped down to a safe speed you know someone would ram into the back of you.

I just try to keep a few seconds gap behind the car in front, and steel myself for the fact that every two minutes someone behind will think "AAARGH THAT BASTARD'S LEAVING A MORE THAN ONE SECOND GAP IN HEAVY FOG I MUST WEAVE ROUND HIM AND DIVE INTO SAID GAP" and do so.

Oh, dear --- what a terrible thing! Hoping all our folks are safe, and sending my thoughts out to those who weren't so lucky.

It's awful. I was driving last night, in the east half of the country, and there were signs on the motorway saying "smoke: slow down". Bonfire smoke because of 5 November, and it was also foggy, so I can see how this might have happened.

Yes, alto, the BBC is saying that they are looking at a local firework display as a possible cause of the action.

I was at a firework display last night, and when it first started with the ones on the ground the smoke and damp air made an immediate impenetrable fog - everyone thought we wouldn't be able to see anything (it cleared after a minute or two). So I can see that if there was a firework display nearby it could have caused a fog that nobody anticipated.
