Maybe I'll get used to it. But maybe not. [More:] Facebook changed the look of their site- how items are displayed in their News Feed and stuff.

It's disorienting to say the least. To say the most, it's putting me off FB because the way I used to read items posted by friends is different enough that it just pisses me off, and just about every time I go over to FB I consider just leaving for good.

It reminds me of Beliefnet.com. That was my first online home, the place where I hung out. Out of several thousand posters they had, I was one of the top 50 most frequent posters there. Then they started messing with the site and I left for good eventually.

Of course, some of you may remember that I groused quite a bit every time MeCha was updated, and I always came back. But here on MeCha the actual navigation was never really altered in a substantial sense, just the format.

I suppose I should adapt and get used to it. Maybe I will. But dammit, I was truly addicted to the old FB and the new one just kind of sux. I feel like I'm cut off from friends, both because I don't feel comfortable there anymore, not spending as much time on the site, and also because when I am there, I feel like I'm just not seeing all the stuff I used to see.

It really pisses me off when my cheese gets moved. I'm getting too old for this shtuff.

Thanks for reading.
Funny, a friend just quit Facebook today and said that they'd moved his cheese one too many times.

I'm going to drop down to every few days and stay logged out of it otherwise so that other sites don't stick my fb picture on their sites.

I deleted my facebook account on Tuesday, and removed links and bookmarks to it from every referrer. Having my online friends there felt redundant, and family and past acquaintances were wasting too much of my time with their bullshit. I mined my past for what it was worth, and now it is time for me to move on.

I will miss the commercial groups though. The music production industry understands facebook quite well, and some great dialogs are happening between musicians and instrument makers. I may go back with a sock puppet to re-establish that connection.

Use the Better Facebook Firefox add-on, and you can customise how it looks to something useable.

I tried. The add-on doesn't fix it the way I want it.

I'm not much of a Facebooker, but I'd started using it lately to play Sims Social (which still isn't working for me grar) and I feel like I had JUST figured out how the old feed worked AND THEN THEY CHANGED IT ON ME.

FFS, this is why I'm on LJ.

I wonder if this is what will make people flock to Google+ en mass.

I don't get it, my Facebook is no different that I can see. It's as good (or bad) as it ever was.

Serena, the new interface seems to be only showing up some places and not others. On Firefox at work and Chrome at home, I see the new one but on Firefox at home, I see the old one. Probably a few days before it's changed everywhere.

I hate it. I hate it more than I've hated other changes. I hate that I can't see what people post when they post it. Hate.
