Moving countries/continents/hemispheres today bunnies. Nothing I haven't done before, but the first time I am doing it with Beloved Canine.
Some good moving vibes would be much welcomed.
I'm so impressed that you're doing this. I'm so embedded where I am that I don't think that I could ever even move to a different city, I can't even think about a different country.

Is there a quarantine period for the dog?

Ooooh, here's hoping it all goes well, msali! I'm sure it will, but I will send you some extra-good moving vibes just in case.

Let us know when you get sorted down there.

I moved from the UK to the US with my dog, Max. Apart from some existential angst when he first arrived, probably due to being in a noisy airplane for 7-8 hours, he loved the move. He had the spirit of an explorer - he traveled about 5,000 miles with us in the 6 years that he had left and was always first into the car!
Best wishes for the move - it's funny what you miss (for me, it was curry, chocolate, and Walkers flavored potato crisps). Enjoy the new culture and the chance to explore new horizons ... :-)

We made the same move in the opposite direction just 6-7 weeks ago. All four of our cats - including the one who was attacked by a dog less than three weeks before we were wheels up - are laying around in windowsills in our Northamptonshire farmhouse as I type this.

All shall be well. Enjoy your sojourn.

Good vibes from me and the beasties!

Sancho the cat did well with his moves from California, to Texas, to Washington, to Canada; surprisingly so since he was a rather high-strung kitty. He flew with my mum from TX to WA and man, was he stoned when I saw him at SEATAC. But even after a separation of four months, he purred like a fiend when he saw me. Damn, I miss that cat so much.
