PLEASE HOPE ME FIND AN EDTIOR I'm in a pickle. →[More:]

No, wait, that's not what I meant.

Anyway, I am trying to track down a Mefite who is also a professional freelance novel editor. There are probably multiple users matching this description, but the one I remember was 1. female and 2. had a fairly memorable username.

Not so memorable, unfortunately, that I actually /remember/ it. This is one of those "OH RIGHT THAT PERSON" I-know-it-when-I-see-it things.

Ocherdraco is/was an editor, but I believe she was affiliated with a major publishing house.

I have edited two books, but I am not affiliated with a publisher. I can just proofread, revise grammar and factcheck. The first book I edited was a mystery about a psychopathic pharmacist written by a retired drug enforcement officer; the second was about physics, black holes, and the second law of thermodynamics. The author was a great scientist, but couldn't differentiate between a dangling participle and a split infinitive.
I can give you the names of 2 independent publishers who might give you a small advance and print your book on demand, but you will have to handle all the publicity yourself to sell the book.
