RIP Nick Ashford →[More:] Another legend lost. I can't believe the number of hits he and wife Valerie Simpson had. They were such an integral part of a whole genre of music. What a legacy they have left us.

At 2 o'clock when the midday lull hits, someone in the office will turn up a song to wake us up. Often it's an Ashford and Simpson song, although I didn't know that until I read the linked article. RIP, Nick. Thanks for everything.

It's Nick... and after Leiber of Leiber & Stoller died yesterday, you have to wonder whether God has it in for great songwriting teams...
