What makes you feel the most free, that you can do the most often?

Shopping.

Of course, I don't have a ton of money or time, and have even fewer opportunities to buy, say, clothing that works for me. So I go to the natural foods co-op near my house and meander around and try samples and think about things I'd use. Then I pick out some new products (or old favorites O HAI CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE BOX) and fill up my cart.

The library. I love walking into the library and knowing that they will let me take home any of these books or track down any book I request and order it for me. That's a whole world that they'll let me bring home!

Taking a shower. I can close my eyes and tilt my face into the spray while the dirt and tension goes down the drain. Clean, I'm a new man.

Road trips...even the short ones to Toronto (as compared the the three week one I just wrapped up).

I love seeing the highway in my rear view mirror. And, when I DO get out for a few days, or week, that feeling of being untethered is one of my favourite things. LOVE IT. When I can wake up in the morning and not remember where I am? I love that feeling so much.

This must be a deeply imprinted primitive, because honestly, going commando gives me that exact emotion. I mean, kilts, really, "brrrrilliant".

I'm with you Adiril and when I have to opportunity, I enjoy a day in the woods, walking, napping in a sun-beam, swimming, having a picnic, all bare as a bumblebee.

Knitting. Recently an article somewhere said "Knitting is the new yoga." I've been knitting since I was nine years old, BWA ha ha.

Agree about the clothing-optional part, except that it must be at least 85 degrees F, without exception.

Swimming or paddling in/on the ocean. Riding a wave, either on a board, or bodysurfing.

Road trips. The bigger the better, but a day or half day trip is good too, esp. when on a self imposed photo assignment.

Um, sex.

Swimming.

In fact, you know what? Reverse that order. Take me to the river, drop me in the water, washa me down.

Yeah water immersion even if just a bath- the other two can be fraught and not totally free. I should do it more.

Motorcycling, no question.

I also air drum and don't give a fuck who sees. I can do that a lot more than riding.

Improv also counts. It's a chance to let my id and superego dance together in the most demonstratively creative ways possible. Plus, I'm on stage, so I have license to do whatever. Who cares? I can set myself free.

Actually, there's a lot to be said for not giving a fuck. It's probably my favorite recreational activity.
