Hey, Londoners, are you OK? Word on the Internet is that Tottenham and neighboring areas are on fire and out of control. Are you guys OK?
I'm fine, Tottenham is about 6 miles from me in distance, but in reality it's a world away.

Great! I'm glad you're OK.

How's MrMustard? IIRC, he lives fairly close to Tottenham?

He's in Walthamstow, which is a couple of miles from Tottenham, but far enough away to not be a problem.

Good.

MrMustard is on Twitter, he seems fine. I'm a long way from it all in West London.

I don't remember anyone from MeCha living in that area. These aren't huge city-wide riots, just a few streets out of a large city.

There were rumors floating around twitter of copycat riots in other areas. Croydon and Brixton were two names I can remember being tossed around.

Just concerned, that's all.

Yes, copycat riots in Walthamstow is a distinct likelihood, but from what I remember, Mr Mustard lives far enough away from the High Street for his home to be at risk.

Anyone wanting to have a copycat riot round here has a fine selection of cupcake cafes, nail bars and hair salons to choose from.

I meant "for his home NOT to be at risk".

I also don't need to go to Tottenham, I have Tottenham coming to my door - since my upstairs neighbour lost his driving licence and had his car repossessed, his dealer delivers to him.

The "on fire" part was confined to one small area of Tottenham (the main shopping street in Bruce Grove).

There's been sporadic (and not-so-sporadic) looting in nearby areas, especially those with chain stores that sell valuable goods (as opposed to Bruce Grove, which is all discount stores). Seems to be happening again tonight.

Drove through Edmonton today and saw quite a few random shops with smashed-in (or boarded-up) windows. That area hasn't been mentioned at all on the news.
