CatFilter: new friend for cantankerous kitty? →[More:]So we have a cat, who is great with people. He's been a lone cat since he moved in with us three years ago. He's now about seven years old. He was a stray, previous history unknown, though he's too friendly to have been feral, and we adopted him from the shelter.
The neighbours have multiple cats, and our cat goes into their house from time to time, but he does. not. tolerate. feline visitors to our house. He has active fights with the biggest cat next door, and seems to coexist relatively peacefully with the others.
What I am wondering is - would it be a really stupid idea to get a kitten? I've read all the AskMe threads on introducing cats to each other, most recently
this one, but the cats in question are generally used to other cats & not loners like ours.
(I realise this question is impossible to answer without a picture - I'm doing my best to upload one...)
