Jamais vu and deja vu When is the last time it happened to you? Let's throw preque vu in for good measure.[More:] I remember reading somewhere that deja vu was far more common in the young and it has been a very long time since it happen to me. Meanwhile, I am wondering if I've been experiencing jamais vu or if it could just be lapses in memory.
Presque vu is a cognitive phenomenon as well?
Well, I have that all the time. Almost.

Deja vu -- not for a long, long time. Jamais vu -- pretty much never that I can recall. Presque vu -- occasionally. Last time was about a week ago.

I'm similar to bearwife. Presque vu is freakin' annoying and happens way too often.

Wait, when did deja vu get variants? I've never heard of these.

And let's not forget Voulez-Vous.

I get deja vu pretty often, though not as astonishingly often as I did when I was a teenager.

I've become pretty good at outsmarting presque vu, maybe through the habit of dogged persistence: I can usually nail down that word if it's part of my long-term vocabulary. It might take a few minutes, but I'm rarely left with that maddening nagging sensation that it is right there.

I get jamais vu mostly when I'm sleep deprived. Sleep-befuddlement makes it all too easy for places, faces, voices, and activities to become completely foreign to me, as if I've never seen them before. It can get a little scary sometimes, or it would be scary if a nap didn't put me right again.

How about vu ja de? I have never felt this way before.

Deja-vu - I get it about twice a year. And I do mean seeing something in real life that I have only ever seen in my head. It's disturbing and raises some fundamental questions about the mechanism of time.

None of those - for me it's usually "merde sacre"
(Sorry, would use accent above if I could find how on this phone )
