WikiLeaks is good. Still not sure about the man. And He looks like Jamie Oliver.

That's a terrible thing to say about Jamie Oliver...

Personally, I don't give a shit about the spokesman. I hope WikiLeaks has a deep bench and can put somebody else out there to be the next face of the organization. I worry that they don't have that deep bench, though. I respect the hell out of what Assange has done, but I sure hope he's thought a step ahead. There need to be a lot of people willing to step up every time one of them is taken down- if Assange goes to jail, Mr B needs to immediately appear. If Mr B goes to jail, Ms C needs to appear. And so on.

I would hope that Wikileaks is more than a personality. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the case. To me from what I have seen, Wikileaks has been more about a cult of personality around Assange rather than an actual fight for anything. Wikileaks and Assange in particular cannot take credit for the "Arab Spring" any more than Ronald Reagan or George Bush the first can take credit for the fall of the Soviet Union and the Berlin wall. To me it was one of those things where shit's going to happen whether you get in the way or not. Give some credit to the people that actually made it happen. You know, actual people. Ones who protested and put their lives on the line. Not the ones that live in the security of being out of range.
