L.A. Visit! Just in case any of you bunnies missed it, I'll be in Los Angeles next week. →[More:]Sorry, San Franciscans. Another day, another trip. I really wanted to come up for a day, but it looks like San Simeon is as far north as I'll make it.

If you're coming to San Simeon, can you stop in SLOtown? I'll bet filthy light thief can meet you too. What day? I've tentatively scheduled a Friday trip to clean out my storage unit and may even extend it to Thursday to make the meetup.

Is SLOtown San Luis Obispo? I was planning to have an early lunch there on my way up to Hearst Castle. I'm driving up on Wednesday. My plan was to leave L.A. early in the morning, drive up the coast, stopping to take pictures and then be back in Los Angeles in time for dinner with friends.

That's me, right off Highway 101 just north of Pismo Beach (cool place but not if you don't have a car). Don't want to cost you too much time from sight seeing, and I'm rotten at knowing where to eat/drink/socialize. Of course, there's the semi-infamous Madonna Inn and its legendary mens room.

In my first years of college, before my friends an I were 21, the Madonna Inn was where we took visiting friends at night. The restaurant is open most of the night, even though they aren't serving food, so you can come in an gawk and the swinging cherubs and take pictures in both the men's and women's bathrooms (the ladies room is decked out in a fancy sort of way, if you were wondering).

Then we'd go to Food4Less or Denny's, the only other non-bar places open late at night.

I posted alternate food options in the MeFi IRL thread, for anyone thinking of visiting San Luis Obispo.
