My heart breaks every time I see Robert Downey Junior on screen. I do not, as a rule, believe in the idea of artists so talented and vulnerable that they cannot function in this society, but he is the one person to whom I feel I can give that excuse. I feel like I'm watching his heart/soul/body laid bare whenever I see him, and I am thankful for the insight into humanity that he gives.
He seems to have settled down in the last decade or so. He is one of the few actors that I'll watch in almost anything, even Iron Man.

I love Robert Downey Jr. He is such a great actor. What I remember most about him (besides substance abuse problems) is his interviews that he gave about his experience in prison and his beautiful wedding pictures. He looks so happy and in love. I also love his look for his wedding day (carefree, stylish, jaunty) and the bride was gorgeous as well.

Sounds like nobody here has seen Due Date yet. What a waste...

I, too, adore RDJ... But yeah, Due Date wasn't great.

He's definitely one of my favourites, but yes...Due Date was a pile of crap. When the only funny thing in a movie is Zach Galafinakis' walk...that's not a good thing.

I can see what occhi's saying though - he really commits to each role. It's impressive as hell, and I think he makes every movie he's in, a better movie. Not many actors can say that.

Yeah, he's an excellent actor. I loved him in that movie with Jamie Foxx about the violinist.

You are correct, I have not seen "Due Date." Sounds like I should keep it that way. :-)

We watched "Wonder Boys" last night. He had very little screen time, but it was like every gesture, look, or word he did have was just absolutely perfect. He's really a joy to watch.
