This week, This American Life played a clip from a woman whose house MOVED one-and-half blocks during the Tuscaloosa tornadoes, intact. She said she "floated across the living room like an astronaut." I may never be able to get that terrifying mental image out of my mind.
That is incredibly scary sounding. I cannot imagine. Have you ever seen the TV show, I Survived? There was an episode with a jogger that got caught in a tornado. He wrapped himself around a tree and all of the trees that were surrounding him were literally uprooting and flying into the air. His tree remained, but he could feel it trying to uproot.

These recent tornadoes are devastating and so so sad.

The part that really amazed me was where the nutty old lady went by on a bicycle, with the little dog in the handlebar basket. Crazy.

Yikes yikes yikes. What a nightmarish idea.

Tornadoes terrify me, the low oppressive unearthly dark sky that harbors a seemingly random visitation. I imagine that fear says something about my inner landscape.
