Pet woes--or not! You may remember Saedy→[More:] our senior dog who had abdominal surgery in December. She's been getting progressively less happy lately, her appetite went up, she started losing weight. She had a full range of blood tests last week and they suggested cancer. We scheduled an appointment this weekend to go get her thoroughly X-rayed to look for it.

We had a rough couple of days. I was really down; I don't want to lose Saedy and I don't want her to be uncomfortable and I just don't want news this bad.

During that time they re-ran some of the bloodwork and the results came back...better! The lab said the low platelet count was an error, and the new thyroid test showed that she was not seriously, but in need of treatment, hypothyroid.

We did take her to get the X-rays and they didn't find anything. So it looks like she's "just" hypothyroid. We can manage that. We can manage that! It should take a couple of weeks for the thyroid meds to start making a difference, but hopefully then my little old Saedy Bear will be back to her mostly-cheerful self.
