Two cool cover songs: 1. Canadian indie band Young Galaxy do a sweet electropop take on Madonna's "Open Your Heart." 2. The Flaming Lips cover "Smothered In Hugs," a song originally on the first Guided By Voices album, Bee Thousand. Both links found via PrettyMuchAmazing.com

Oh, Young Galaxy. A while back I saw one of their videos on TV but failed to make a note of the details of it. All I could remember was that it was a good-sounding song with a really neat video, but I couldn't remember any of the lyrics or anything.

I spent months trying to figure out what it was, and then suddenly remembered just a few words. Enough to identify it and then find it on YouTube.

It was Young Galaxy's Come and See. Most of what's going on in that video seems pretty easy to interpret, but there are parts of the story and maybe some symbolism happening there that I don't understand.
