Someone please explain the Internet to me. What is this site for? Why does it exist? What purpose does it serve? Who is the intended audience?
It's SEO spam.It exists to sell your eyeballs to the auto insurance advertisers. It draws you in by using terms you're likely to search on in the metadata and on the screen. The few seconds you scroll around looking for actual content before you get fed up are worth something to the advertisers and ad sellers.
But also, its links to other sites that really are trying to sell you something provide them extra Google-Fu (because Google's algorithm gives points for incoming links) and raises them in the search ranking.
