The Daily Grind, this afternoon on my commute home, in front of Bubba's Place. (amazing what Bubba can do with re-bar and horseshoes, ain't it?)
Your bike? How long is your commute?

Yeah, sorry, The Daily Grind = my commuter bike. It's a 1994 Nishiki Sport XRS with a lot of upgrades. I ride 17 miles each way. Unfortunately I drive more than I ride right now. I used to have a 7 mile commute and the balance was tipped the other way- I rode to work about 2/3 of the time.

That pic was snapped on my route home. When it's daylight I don't mind staying in the rural area a bit longer. In the morning when it's dark I take the more urban route. Even though I have lighting, I kind of like the street lights too.

I spent all winter thinking about putting a dynohub on my commuter.. Now that the daylight is better, the itch is subsiding. How do you like yours?

I love Bubba's Place!

Doohickie, you are awesome for riding 17 miles each way! That is a trek in my opinion.

I learned how to weld so I could make things with horseshoes. I still need my own equipment, though. I love this pic.

I only bike a bit over a mile to work. . .not long enough.

I have an old Raliegh 531 frame and some antique Campy components. I always lust after LFR's bikes, even for commuting.

See, I lust after finding an old Raliegh 531 frame and some antique Campy components. All a matter of perspective, danf.

Triode: I love my dyno lights. I got the wheelset from a friend, not realizing it had a dynamo hub. Once I figured out what it was, I got the lights to go with it before winter set in. Compared to my battery powered light, the headlight is a little dimmer, but definitely worth the tradeoff of never having to worry about charging my batteries. My hub is a Schmidt SON hub, rather pricey, but there are much more affordable versions made by companies like Sanyo. Although I got my lights through my local bike shop, they got them from Peter White Cycles. There's a wealth of information about dyno lights on his site.
