These are the most creative little cat houses I have ever seen! For all you kitty-lovers in mecha-land.
They are great. But I question their washability.

I wonder if one could just felt the shed cat fur into the house.

Is this supposed to make me feel bad about giving my cat a paper grocery bag to sleep in?

Our cats were literally fighting over the privilege of sleeping in the shopping bag yesterday.

heh. The mister did some ridiculous mega Costco spree last Saturday, and Marlowe immediately commandeered one of the boxes that it came in. So there it sits in the middle of the livingroom. Sigh. I got him a spendy, colour coordinated kitty bed (which to his credit he does sleep in) but he seems to prefer a ratty, neon pink bulk ramen noodle box which plays merry hell with the home decor.

cats are weird.

These are lovely, but I reckon the likelihood of cat sleeping in specifically-purchased cat nest is inversely proportional to the amount spent on the nest.

Felting cat fur, on the other hand... now there's an idea.

One of my cats also loves to crawl into empty grocery bags. The only problem is he gets lost sometimes and cannot find the way out. When this happens, his solution is to start rolling.

So once in a while I hear a noise from the kitchen, like... rustlerustlerustlethump... rustlerustlerustlethump... rustlerustlerustlethump... and then suddenly a grocery bag flops its way into the dining room. Eventually he sees daylight and crawls out.

Mind you this is the same cat who has attacked his own butt before, so I have to go with "cats are weird" on this, too.

Hah FishBike, I once came home to discover one of my cats was limping so of course, I did the OMG POOR KITTY! thing and rushed to his aid only to discover that he had somehow pinned one of his front legs to his chest with the braided paper handle of a shopping bag that he had using as his preferred sleeping spot. He had torn off the bulk of the bag except for the reinforced section that held the handle to the paper and having a medium length coat, the whole thing just sort of disappeared into his fur. I can only assume he was exiting the bag, got his head through a handle and rather backing up, just tried to bull his giant body all the way through.

The best part was his utter nonchalance about the whole thing, he was all like "Yeah, I meant to do that. Totally." while trying to hide the fact that he was strolling around on 3 legs.

When the mister and I visit Mum in Washington, we usually make a side trip to her local Trader Joe's. At least one of the bags ends up as a kitty hide-out. One of the beasties got tangled up in one of the handles and I wish our cats were as nonchalant as jamaro's. I don't remember which cat it was, but it went into total freak-out mode (probably Oliver, he's the most intense cat I have ever met). Since then we snip the handles (not off, just so they're not handles anymore) to avoid stressed out cats and cat parents.

As to the original kitty houses - those are adorable and I think our kitties would like them. We have one fabric tent-like house (the mister got it at a garage sale for a couple bucks) that they sometimes will sleep inside but usually squish it down and sleep on top of it (I'm looking at you, Fanty). And we have a few of the fake sheepskin beds as well and they use those.
