I can't figure out why I want this too, because I do. I don't miss the old manual kind of typewriter, but I did love my electric script typewriter (which produced a lovely flowing but legible script typeface) and the IBM Selectrics I used to use at work. I miss that ding! sound at the end of a line, followed immediately by the more muted and discreet noise produced by the carriage return. I also miss actually pulling out a piece of paper with words on it that I had seen myself producing . . . I guess I wouldn't get that with this "keyboard" either but I'd sure like the rest of it.
Confession: I still can't touch-type properly, because on my old Olivetti typewriter the little finger of my left hand wasn't quite strong enough to propel the hammer into the paper, so I got used to moving it off the home keys.
I do miss the clunk-whirr-ching of the carriage return lever though.
