Crushing forces are crushing me! [More:]
Agghh! I am so crazily stressed out! I have so many crushing responsibilities! I'm a single parent and in a really hard nursing program and working at a job I'm so sick of other daily stuff needs to happen and I need to be Superman all the time in order to succeed! It's tiring! I just want to be Clark Kent for a while! Gah!

Any wise words from people not currently being crushed by crushing forces would be gratefully accepted!

Thanks! (Exclamation points are apparently therapeutic.)
In better news, here are some cute pictures of David Bowie.

Hang in there!!!
Been there, done that, but in a different way of course.

If you can rely on family or friends for childcare and a cheap motel room and decent delivery food... All or any combination of these things at all might help.

I wanted to take spring break off, but then my boss did. We work in an academic setting. I feel your pain and really WANT a VACATION right the hell now and she took the only time WTF!

You are doing everything right even if it doesn't feel like it right now.
(I'm making sure I have funds for a good massage and some recommended chiropractor treatments. I've had daily pain for 2 months now.)

Please take the best are of you that you can. Many hugs!

When I'm going through a time of intense pressure, I always try to give myself a couple of little breaks during the day, even if it's just twenty minutes to eat lunch by myself while listening to some calming music, or sitting on the porch before bedtime with a beverage of choice, the cats, and NOBODY TALKING TO ME. Doing that every day makes me feel like I'm able to stop and focus for a few minutes, and keep from feeling so overwhelmed.

Even if they seem small and trivial, allow yourself a couple of these breaks every day.

Been through it and survived and the kid survived too. Fifteen years ago I was a single parent with joint custudy, working full time at a call center and in CS program at the university at night.

My best strategy at the time was just to keep my eyes on the prize and remember that it will be better in the future. You will graduate and have a better job; life will be good after this short period of suckiness.

Serazin! Really???? You are a single parent and you have the energy to go to school? Not just school, but Nursing School???!!! And you have a job!!!?!????!!!!!

I was a single Mom who always worked full time, and I didn't have the energy to finish a second degree. Fortunately, I went to school long before the kiddo, but even now, with the kiddo a grownup living on his own, the full time job is all I have energy for.

You are an amazing person to even think of tackling so much, and even more amazing for pulling it off! You, too, Octo. How do you do it??? You are both awesome. Here is a morsel of comfort - some day, your child(ren) will be grateful for how hard you worked.

Bonus tip: Question marks are also therapeutic.

Thanks folks! I feel a bit better today after a trip to the gym and reading your kind encouragement.

Yep, been there, done that - I was a single parent, working full-time and studying at night, but I never would have had the energy to take on something as demanding as a nursing program. Well, that and I don't really like people (and have no patience for sick people) so I don't think nursing is for me ;-)

You are teh awesome indeed!
