That would be a good way to use umbrellas that have blown over... maybe. Funny idea but I bet the people who would spend $30 on a dogbrella would be more likely to spend it on a dogwalker instead.
Hammacher Schlemmer must be German for "Who thinks this crap up?"
If I attached that to my dog's collar, he would start bucking like a wild horse, yank the lead out of my hand and rocket down the street as the umbrella bounced off his back, spurring him to even greater speeds. I can see his eyes rolling in terror even now.
Actually, as he lifted his leg on the dining room table earlier this week, I might buy a dogbrella after all.
Try cleaning up his poop with that thing attached to him, bending down to scoop without either knocking him over with the edge of the dogbrella or else losing your balance as you try not to jab him with the edge of it.
This awakens my dormant bias against Little Dogs (i.e. those weighing less than 25 lb). Once again I ask myself -- are these real dogs? Because, for one thing, Real Dogs don't need umbrellas!
My current dog doesn't care about wet vs dry though given a choice, he prefers wet. He's a lab, so not too surprising.
My previous dog (aussie cattledog) genuinely hated getting wet. He would refuse to walk on wet grass and went out to do his business never stepping foot off the brick mower strip that edges our lawn. Taking him to the beach was always good for a laugh because he would charge the waves while barking furiously and then skitter back like the world's largest sandpiper. I've always wondered if it was an ACD thing as a good friend is now on her second ACD, neither of them liked getting wet either. We took her and my dog to Yosemite. This was my dog's reaction. Her dog isn't in the photos because he refused to leave the car after stepping foot on slush in the parking lot. He was out of the car for all of 30 seconds.
