17 February 2011

My friend Cas is doing 30 days of waffle recipes on his blog. Day 10 and I'm already in LOVE.
Great. Now I have to buy a waffle iron.

I'm just about to get one so timing!

I don't know a lot of the inspirations or ingredients though it seems.

I LOVE THIS!

You can make cookies in the waffle maker. And cornbread. Also waffles. Sweet, sweet waffles.

Neato - waffles deserve a comeback. I adore waffles - and have one of the Black and Decker models he likes. I like it too, though the one drawback is that it does get hot on the outside. But it makes awesome waffles.

Waffles are something you can enjoy at any meal of the day, and they can be sweet or savory, topped with all kinds of different things. They are delish. Thanks for the fun link.

Awesome, and just in time for a 3-day weekened!. I have a waffle maker that I got at a thrift store, or was left behind by a former housemate. It's not fantastic, but it is non-stick, and works for my dull (by new comparison) waffles.

rhapsodie, thanks ever so to the link to the Belgian waffle recipe. I believe my Sunday breakfast plans have just changed to a far more enticing prospect.

I bought our waffle iron at a thrift store for five bucks, and it is FANNNNNNNNTASTIC. Unlike most of the new waffle irons I saw while shopping for one, this one is all metal, heavy, and gets searing hot. (I have the big shiny burn mark on my arm to prove it.) It makes great crispy waffles and, like many heavy old models, its plates are reversible, so it also works as a griddle or a sandwich press.

At first glance, I thought the post said "My friend's cats..." and I was so excited to click because a blog about cats making waffles would be just about the most perfect blog in the world.
