Shuffle-a-go-go the "screw it, I'm snowed in, what else am I gonna do?" edition. You know how it goes.[More:]1. Wu-Tang Clan - Da Mystery of Chessboxin'
2. Super Chron Flight Brothers f/ Johnny Voltik - 100 Ft. of Cold Dirt
3. Subhumans - Get Out of My Way
4. The Buzzcocks - Something's Gone Wrong Again
5. Justin Townes Earle - Move Over Momma
6. Fugazi - Nice New Outfit
7. The Budos Band - Rite of the Ancients
8. Tom Waits - Time
9. Cannibal Ox - Scream Phoenix
10. Rob Sonic - Teeth Eat Her
1. The Kinks - This Time Tomorrow
(loved it in Darjeeling Limited)
2. Scissor Sisters - Take Your Mama Out
(from a friend's mix -- actually, I never would have pegged him for Super Gay Disco Type)
3. Probably the UW-Madison Choir - Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child
(from the 2008 rehearsal cd for our own choir. It's mostly made up of people who sang in Concert Choir with the arranger, Robert Fountain, and he always ended his concerts with a spiritual arrangement, so we usually do too. Except I don't think we did this one...)
4. Ken Stringfellow - Reveal Love
(Ooh, this was on the first cd mix my honey ever made for me!)
5. Claude Debussy - Clair de Lune (orchestral arrangement)
(You know, when I was little I thought "Claire de Lune" was that "At Pierrot's Door" piece from Suzuki Book One. When I finally heard this one, I was completely confused that it didn't sound like a two-finger piano piece, but it is just so lovely that I liked it anyway.)
6. Billy Bragg - Levi Stubbs' Tears
(I think this one was on a later mix from my partner, but also yay for more Billy Bragg!)
7. Dixie Chicks -- I Believe in Love
(I don't really have an affinity for this one; just got the whole album)
8. Josh Millard - Get You Laid
(I hadn't listened to any of this stuff until it mysteriously came up on shuffle the other day. My reaction was a) "Dude, this is pretty cool! Where did I get it?" b) "Ohhhh, it's CORTEX. Huh.")
9. Voice of the Beehive - I Say Nothing
(from another mix, entitled "Lemur's Crappy Pop Makes Exercise Fun!" Not fun enough, man. Not fun enough.)
10. Eumir Deodato - Spirit of Summer
(I got this album -- Prelude -- as the first part of this year's Secret Quonsar. Thanks, slapp_pinchbottom!)

1. Minutemen - You Need the Glory
2. Kid Koala - Barhopper 2
3. The Clean - Beatnik

7. Fugazi - 30 Second Drum Solo
8. Interpol - Narc
9. Devo - (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
10. Polvo - Light of the Moon

Hrm. Well, I've seen 3 of these in concert, so that's a good sign. The Clean is one of my Favourite Bands of all Time. Nothing much else to say about that, really. Nothing embarrassing for once.

An unusually good shuffle! When I was a kid and lived in England, that Katrina and the Waves song was on the radio everywhere we went for five months, after which it shared time with Do They Know It's Christmas, which even then made me annoyed me. I am envious of you, danf - I just have her Women Drinking Whiskey, which I looooooooooove, but would love to have more.

I just want you folks to know that I came out of Lurker mode and finally enlisted on Metachat JUST so I could say something in response to one of the comments on this thread:

I can't believe that someone else actually

1) has, and
2) listens to:

THE ETHEL MERMAN DISCO ALBUM.
