I really liked the individual stories. But it does do the thing of conflating same-sex attraction with gendered behavior. They're so often related but not always. I've certainly known kids in my teaching career that did, at some times or always, show behavior from another gender, but they haven't universally grown up to be gay, at least not based on the outward evidence of their partner choice.
