27 December 2010

Last.fm's Top 40 artists of 2010 This is pretty cool: at the bottom of each artist's page, you can see your own listening graph for that artist (if any) overlaid on the graph for the public at large. And on this page, you can see where your own most-listened artists fall in the overall rankings for 2010.
Well, I heard four out of forty this year. That's high for me.

Heh, "if any". I found a couple bands who I think may have some interesting deep cuts, but overall, the hits sounded derivative of proven formulas. I am so over drums and more so drum machines.

Pretty cool, although I definitely am not in tune with the Last.FM average. I have 7 artists in common with the top 40, and 3 of those were just a few plays each. the National, Arcade Fire, Black Keys, and Broken Bells were the only ones on the list that I actually played a lot.

Where is the list? I'm not clicking through 40 pages of artists I don't care about to see if I know any of them.

I only had 4 artists that showed up in the top 40, and I was surprised that there were over a dozen I'd literally not heard OF. On that second link, though, I had 11 artists who were in the top 100.
