OMG MOVING! So I'm finally actually moving this weekend. And boy howdy am I anxious. Happy thoughts, warm hugs, funny stories all appreciated! [More:]

I love all you guys! I'm sure everything will go fine, I just need to distract myself and let nature take its course. Cause right now I am like EEEeeeeeee!
Also, fingers crossed I find out in the next week or two if my job is going full-time.

Dude, I hear that if you make it - and I think it means, like, you know, IT - in, like, New York, you can also, like, make it in Des Moines. No, wait, that's not right. Something something anywhere something O Sole Miiiiiiiiiiiii Ooooooooooh, wait, no, that's not right either.

;-) Moving sucks but it's a finite process which is considerably ameliorated by pizza and beer. Good luck.

If you can make it there, you'll make it anywhere - it's up to you ...

Hugs! Lots!

So, every single time I move, it's unreasonably hot. Even if the day before and the day after are freezing. The day I move, it'll be baking.

My husband has a similar problem, except it's rain.

Put the two of us together, and, well, at least it's not freezing rain. But we have to make sure we have tarps available and multiple dry changes of hot-weather clothes sitting out, because it'll rain, then it'll be humid and stuffy and terrible, and then it'll rain. It doesn't matter what the weather's predicted to be, nor what it's like the rest of the week.

As others have said, moving sucks... but having moved is great! A new place and a new space can be so full of promise! Hurray and good luck!

YOU GO MOVE! YOU MOVE SO HARD ALL YOUR STUFF EXPLODES AND IS REFORMED INTO BETTER STUFF.

ALSO NOW YOU ARE CLOSER FOR THE DRINKING AT.

THIS IS GOOD.

I am praying like HEY that it doesn't snow for you. Because the only thing that sucks harder than moving in rain, or stickyhot, is a friggin blizzard. How do I know this? Because I've done it FOUR FUCKING TIMES!!

also because alla you buggers in the rest of the world have apparently stolen all our snow. GIVE IT BACK GODDAMMIT!!

Ahem. Good luck dude!

All I'll say is this: don't have your father assemble your bedframe. Just don't.

Congrats and you are officially welcome!

Madamina- you are so right. The last time I moved my dad called me to remind me of the giant bed-assembling fight we had 7 years before when he helped me move.

I sort of envy you. It's a lot of work to heave your stuff around and unpack and organize it, but on the other hand everything also becomes extra interesting and you get to choose some new habits.

Good luck!
