What are some applications that allow to you block specific websites from yourself? [More:] Or to limit the amount of time you can spend on them?

I feel like I read about these on mefi at one point, or maybe I even posted about them? But googling has not been helpful.

I must implement restrictions on my internet time, including, sadly, metachat ):
I googled site:ask.metafilter.com block website and found this:
http://ask.metafilter.com/38770/How-do-I-block-the-websites-that-kill-all-my-time
among others.
But I haven't tried any of this myself (not that it wouldn't be a good idea).

Try changing your passwords at those websites to reminders to limit your use of them.

If you use Firefox, there's an add-on called Blocksite that I've used that's pretty good.

Thanks y'all. I looked at these ideas and ended up doing a bunch more searches. I've settled on the firefox extension called LeechBlock which seems to have the flexibility I want. I can block specific sites during specific times of day. It should kick in in one minute! Let's see if it works...

I use Leechblock, which does what it's designed to do, and does it well. Unfortunately it doesn't have a feature that prevents me from opening a different browser...

LeechBlock seems to clear all of it's settings whenever the browser crashes which is annoying. (Firefox crashes on Linux almost daily)
