What a week... [More:]Ever had just one of those weeks? Missed work Monday and Tuesday because of the flu and then had to leave work early yesterday and off today because of a death in the family on the husband's side who is also at odds. Took today off with it all going on and home all day and not sure what to do with myself besides you know, not cleaning. I'm sure work is piling up and it just clearly never looks good missing a whole week of work, so nervous about that but sort of feeling like there's just nothing to do about it. Also, trying to get better so I can go visit my father the weekend after this because he too is likely slipping away soon and I'm very bored with myself which is an odd sensation with everything going on. Just sort of taking it all in stride as a likely defense mechanism... worried these things go in threes...

Ever just had one of those weeks? Turned to my favorite book ("Playing the Jack" by Mary Brown) to whip up a little escapism and now starting on the sequel again because I couldn't get through it before due to a disturbing rape scene. Checking that thread again, I've noticed that I missed the emailing around of Dorothy Dunnett text... bummer. Half started projects like sorting through summer clothing, dishes that could easily be done but piling in the sink, tidying up the bedroom... sigh. It's a stinker and all to be endured.

Is your week any better?
Sorry for the crappy week. Bad things do seem to cluster, or maybe having a couple bad things happen makes everything else feel worse.

I had a great week.

Monday: Had to sit in a training session that didn't apply to me, so I 1) didn't have to listen and 2) didn't have to do any of my regular work.

Tuesday: went on lunchtime walk with crush in beautiful New England fall weather.

Wednesday: Played in my string quartet.

Today: received funny jokey emails from some of my favorite friends; too lazy to post the pic, but the heading was "Keyboard for Old Men", and it was a picture of a keyboard with just two keys, one said MUSIC and the other said PORN. Also, have viola lesson in a little while which is fun.

Tomorrow: It's FRIDAY, what can be better than that?

YES and I totally had one. I think getting Monday started off by staying out late Sunday night set me up to be tired and cranky all week long (and of COURSE I stay up late reading every week night instead of turning the light out and going to bed). Today was the best of all the days, thank goodness.

Chicken pox, wrangling to get invoices paid, mental melt downs. Been a bitch of a week.

Yes, it has been one of those weeks, but in the grand scheme of things even my bad week is better than a lot of people's good weeks, so I can't complain.

I'm really sorry for the bad-no-good-rotten weeks some of y'all are having. I'm doing pretty well, I guess, though this week that partly means I'm A) working hard to make a couple of bad things better, and B) doggedly rising above things that can't be improved.

I'll gloss over most things in the BAD column and only mention this one: after a particularly grueling couple of days, my back spasms extended their reach. That's right: butt spasms. It's just as glamorous and delightful as it sounds!

Undeniably good things: had a great dinner with friends early in the week, had a good day of leisure with my partner, saw a local film tonight and it was great, having breakfast tomorrow with my sister and niece. Yup, those are good things!

So, I'm sending some of my good-week to y'all. Hope it reaches you fast.
