Speaking of personal clothing style . . . what are you wearing today?
Me: Black pants cut below the waist, stretchy white T shirt blouse, textured light beige blazer, short black boots, sparkly art nouveau silver ring, chunky black and silver bracelet, necklace and earrings.
Purple unmatched socks. Pink shirt I snagged at last year's Bitch and Swap. Jeans that I snagged at last year's Bitch and Swap. I love working at home. I only get dressed because the dog needs to walk.
Red Old Navy polo shirt -- it's a men's shirt but it fits curvy me much better than a women's version.
Old Navy bootcut jeans which are super saggy and grrrr
Little triathletey socks -- because, as you may know, I AM IRON [WO]MAN) These red Salomons, which are the best and are now three years old and I might have to replace them with the exact same kind which would totally be embarrassing and a waste of a perfectly good opportunity for something new. But TOTALLY NOT.
Pinkish and black glasses.
A black fleece that I stole from my friend's sister at their wedding five years ago.
You might deduce that I am an athletic, outdoorsy type. I am absolutely not going to challenge you on that.
- Dark grey heather long sleeved v-necked t-shirt
- Black heavy stretchy cotton yoga (?) pants
- Pink Crocs (fake)
- Silver medic alert bracelet on left wrist
- Two silver bands on left ring finger (not official wedding band, but I like 'em)
- Two small silver hoops in left ear (main ear piercings are empty)
- Beige hair/Alice band
I wore black pants, which are faded and ill-fitting and from Old Navy and I generally hate them. I wore a black cami under a 3/4 sleeve dark teal v-neck cardigan. This is the first time I have worn the cardigan, and I decided it doesn't fit me as well as I thought in the store, and the bottom button fell off this morning. I had to teach a class this afternoon without a button. Tiny fake pearl stud earrings, a $5 rhinestone peace sign ring, some sort of turquoise stone on a gold chain my father gave me in high school. Ugly black ballet flats with a small heel that always slips on smooth floors and makes me look like I can't control my motor functions.
Dark gray yoga pants, pale purple t-shirt, purple plaid flannel over that, purple socks, black Danskos, watch, the emerald stud in my left ear that I never take out. Basically, total comfort. Clothing that says: I don't feel well and might crawl back into bed at any minute.
Nightgown, robe. I just got out of the bath.
Earlier it was jeans and a Threadless tshirt of the girl getting her head blown off into butterflies, with ankle boots and a rain jacket. I think it's Burberry.
PJs now. But to work I wore a classic long linen shirtdress and tall brown boots. This dress was a great find, a classy-looking simple one-piece thing that always looks good and makes me feel good. Also, it's in keeping with my "WWKHW" rule about choosing clothing (What Would Katharine Hepburn Wear?).
Dark wash bootcut jeans, a navy striped boat neck tee with tabbed sleeves, a gold necklace, snake print flats (with a very slight heel). To walk around I added a thin black waterproof knee length coat and a plaid cashmere scarf.
Worn today: to work - black Dickies work pants, black GBX work boots, some t-shirt that I can't remember, and a zip-up hoodie that I took off at lunch.
To class post-work shower: Grey dickies shorts, Black Mission of Burma t-shirt, black Onitsuka Tiger kicks, and a Qwantz zip-up hoodie that I carried into class, but threw on before I walked back to my car.
Same as ever: M&S underwear (I challenge you to find a British woman who doesn't wear that) black jeans, plain long-sleeved top (today: jade green), black walking shoes, wedding ring.
Oh, OK, I also wore my left hand jewelry: anniversary ring (blue/purple spinel flanked by 2 diamonds) and thin woven silver and gold link bracelet and Citizen Eco gold and silver watch with small diamonds around the face. But I wear those EVERY day.
Well, it's tomorrow already, but I have on Fluevog Adrian Alli oxfords; blue & grey heathered tights; a black wool knee-length skirt; a dark blue-grey zip front merino t-shirt; and my lightweight wool wrap-scarf. No jewelry today, but lipstick!
