Speaking of right across the street. My kids' school was on lock down today. I had no idea until I pulled up to pick up my nephew who also goes to the same school. They thought there was a gunman. I knew it was BS but they still kept them in school and locked down for 50 minutes after the school day was over while choppers and cops swarmed the place. A lot of parents were panicked. I am cynical and knew it was overblown hysteria when I learned that a "suspicious man" was walking outside the perimeter of the fence and they were trying to find the suspicious man because you know, he might be a "pedophile" or in the middle of a "messy divorce". My kids were scared. One of them said, "I didn't know what a Code Red was."
LoriFLA, reminds me of that stupid school scare that concluded with police blowing up an abandoned stuffed animal. Sorry your children had to go through that.
