Love this! My best costume ever was the year I dressed as a suffragette. Although I kept having to explain to people what I was (read the sash - VOTES FOR WOMEN!). I like explaining stuff to people though, so that wasn't so bad.

I was a suffragette in 08, with a little help from my friends on MetaChat. It was really a fantastic costume and I enjoyed it a lot.

It amuses me that they include Josephine Baker as a "glamour girl", like long, glorious gowns was all she was.

Their goddesses section is missing Kali, though that might be considered a "sexy" costume. But also an awesome one.

I second the MeFi post nomination, and think Sally Ride should be listed under Notable Women. White or orange jumpsuit, paint your own patches... it's the helmet that would be stumping me.

Or maybe just women aviators in general. Amelia Earhart?
