but...#4 is The Mercy Seat - by Nick Cave, but I'll admit I got to know it due to Johnny Cash's great version.

Correct! I love Mr Cave A LOT, but I admit I think Johnny's version is better. He sounds like he's been there more or something.

1. is Jeff Buckley - Lover You Should Have Come Over.
I also got the Nick Cave & the Blondie, and Anything Goes.
The spelling of helecopters makes my brain hurt.

Oh! I thought it was some pun/affected spelling by the songwriter! It didn't cross my mind that you'd made a typo.

I can hear the song in my head, but I'm no good with the names of songs. I'm trying to resist the urge to google it. Hopefully someone smarter can come by and solve this puzzle for me.
