I think the orange paint might flake off.

I keep wondering how on earth somebody would clean that. But then last time I bought a bathroom faucet, I pretty much decided which one to get based entirely on which one looked easiest to clean, so perhaps I'm weird like that.

I used to kitty-sit for the a very wealthy friend's parents - these were the exact faucets in her private bathroom in their house.

It seems like, from what you have shared of the rest of your house, that this is a bit over-the-top in terms of how it looks.

Plus, when I look at a faucet, I look at a few years down the road, with wear and tear, and usually opt for faucet handles that have "wings" on them, so they are easier to turn on and off, as the fixtures age and get harder to turn.

Yah, I hate the handles, but the swan is specrapular.

I wasn't seriously considering this faucet. It wouldn't suit my bathroom and it's too over the top for my taste in any case. I can maybe picture it working in some rather palatial home that is lavishly or quirkily decorated. I just thought it was funny. It turned up in a google image search for "gold swan charm" (I want one to put on an ankle bracelet).
