ZOMG I love the Bob fez pic! Reminds me of Whitey ("I hate this but I'll go along because I love the attention.") Here is our Bob. We lost him this spring.
Georgie, who I took in when the neighbour who had him bought a Jack Russell, who hated him. He was killed on the road just 10 weeks after I got him. :-( He was beautiful.
Ricky, who I took in as a 1-year-old stray, and quite possibly the best cat ever. Here he is trying to get onto my lap when I'm at the computer. He was about 20 when he died. I've loved all my cats, and I adore the two I have now but Ricky was something special.
Scupper, the next-door-neighbor dog when I was growing up. I was the official dog sitter, and she was bringing me my pay. I am in my nightgown. What a lovely, soft-mouthed hunting doggie. A lap dog despite her size. I'm glad I wasn't around when she got old and died, because I don't know the story and so she can live on in my memory without pain.
From the glasses and perm ('body wave' being the term we used back then), I'm dating this to ~1987-88.
A video of Maddie because she's hard to capture in still shots and it's the most recent thing I have of her. Remember that dying feral kitten we found on the street? That was two years ago!!

Dear departed Beans, the bestest dog that ever was. Still miss her terribly; it's hard to look at pictures of her even though it's been a year since we lost her.

Here's Hodge, the geriatric wonder cat. As best we can tell, he's 20 years old (and we've had him for 15 of those years). He's survived being run over in his youth, mauled by 2 dogs a year ago, hyperthyroidism, blindness, high blood-pressure, and having near-death heart failure last week. (Maybe we should call him Lucky.;-) He is most likely the most expensive orange tabby cat in the state of Alabama, but he is a very fine cat, a very fine cat, indeed. ≡ Click to see image ≡
And here's my son, drawing a picture Hodge and leaving him a note on the front walk ("Dear Hodge . . .") ≡ Click to see image ≡
One more of Hodge, on the prowl in the back yard.
Baby boo (blurry because his eyes were just opened and I didn't want to use a flash): ≡ Click to see image ≡
(I wish I had some pictures of our Timmy uploaded to my flickr account. He was the glider we hand raised and then lost in a household accident. It was about a year and a half ago, but it still hurts to even think about him. I feel you, misskaz.)

He actually turned out to be a she. We had to give her away since we weren't able to spend enough time with her. But she is happy with a new family (the kids loved her!).
I work at home and have a cat bed the corner of my desk so there is almost always a cat with me while I work. Here's Hank and Norma ≡ Click to see image ≡
You know, when I saw that we were all invited to post pictures of out pets, I was pretty sure that we wouldn't get any posts. I mean, who in the world would want to share pictures of their beloved, cute, furry friends on the internet?
Boy was I wrong.
Also, I wonder if cats know how awesome they look?
One more picture. This is me at 4 or 5 years old with our dog Gauguin. ≡ Click to see image ≡
I'm glad I don't have those pants anymore, but I wish we still had the furniture.
Love seeing all the great pictures you folks have taken of good friends. You can really see how much these pets are loved! It's cool to hear the stories about each one.
The most recent pictures of Beatrix, aka The Bees: ≡ Click to see image ≡ ≡ Click to see image ≡
She is very tolerant of clothing, it doesn't bother her much at all, but i think animals are happiest naked, so feel free to picture her naked.

This is Millie, one of my sisters four dogs. Millie and her sister, Heaven, were rescued from a house that burned down. The owner could no longer keep the dogs, so my sister adopted both of them (she's a soft touch). I don't know why, but I like Millie in particular. She's quiet and reserved and I love her markings. I've often thought of kidnapping her, but I'd have to take her sister too, and 2 medium size dogs in a 400sqft apt just seems like a bad idea.
Great thread, BTW, not artsy but fun.
My cat, Mr. Figaro. I got him from a shelter this summer. He was found in his carrier, abandoned by his previous owners in an empty apartment by cleaning staff. He was likely there 2 days. Needless to say, he hates the carrier. He is spoiled rotten now.
I was just looking at the new photos and thinking of Mickey's mom, Bridget. At that moment, someone on TV said Bridget!! She must be saying hi from kitty heaven! :)
Her parents are show dogs, but Tiger here has a heart-murmer, so she's defective and can't be bred. We got her on the cheap, and she was totally worth it. Smartest dog we've ever had.
