Web 1.0 is alive and well! [More:]So, I was looking at a friend's Facebook response when I decided to poke around his page a bit and find out more about what he's been up to. A link there took me to the above, which is an honest to good old-school e-zine that's still being updated. I mean, check out the date!

Anyone else know of any old-school web sites which still exist as a living document?
Sadly, many of my favourite old-school pages died along with Geocities.

I know a lot of web sites, like this one, that doesn't have a real order-online system, it will only let you print out the order form and snail mail it in.

I came across this one when looking for campsites in the Northwoods. The calendar of events is still current. (It was also a nice campground - the bathrooms were super clean.)

This one's a pretty good model, even before you see the spelling.

yarchive.net had a rather spartan look even by the standards of a decade ago, and still looks exactly the same today. Norman Yarvin, the guy who runs it, does update it every year or two with a whole whack of new content, so I think it still counts as an actively maintained site. It's popular with a bunch of MeFites and has been the subject of at least a couple of FPPs, including one quite recently.

SheldonBrown.com, a treasure trove of bicycle information. Sheldon is deceased, but his website lives on. There was some discussion recently over on BikeForums.net as to whether it was proper for the site to be updated (as has been done recently); the consensus was that Sheldon would want it that way.
