The whole Tea Party movement is an appalling current application of the Big Lie approach to politics (i.e., say it is grass roots when it is anything but, claim to stand for regular people when you are anything but . . . etc.) and an illustration of how right Dickens was when he admonished us all to fear Want . . . but fear Ignorance more.
