29 September 2010

Chain of good fortune and warm fuzzies thread. Post something awesome, fortune-cookie style, for the next person to comment after you. Adding "in bed" is optional.[More:]

For instance, whoever posts the next comment is clearly an attractive, witty, wonderful person who will receive good news this weekend.

Why, thank you, flex (there's one piece of good news I'm desperately hoping for - will post here if it comes to pass).

The person who posts next is clearly about to find out that ALL THE THINGS in his/her house have CLEANED themselves.
posted by altolinguistic 29 September | 11:48
I was thinking just an hour ago that I have to clean all the things!

The next person who posts doesn't know it, but today is on its way to becoming their best day ever!
posted by punchtothehead 29 September | 12:10
Actually it is a great day if quantity equals quality, as my day began at 2:30am courtesy of my little boy.

The person who posts next should buy a lottery ticket and use these numbers:

5, 13, 17, 25, 31, 34

Ooh, I like this thread. My mom always told me to add "between the sheets" at the end of the fortune cookie.

The next poster will soon have a visitor who brings good fortune and cheer!!

Next poster: You are posessed of courage, vision, and a righteous sword.
posted by rainbaby 29 September | 12:51
Why thank you, rb.

Next poster: You will soon embark on an adventure across a body of water.
posted by danf 29 September | 13:36
(pleasepleaseplease let it be a LARGE body of water, rather than, say the Potomac)

The next poster will find that all is not as it seems, and a situation that appears to be unlucky will result in unexpected good fortune.
posted by EvaDestruction 29 September | 14:03
I could use some good fortune.

Next poster: Be willing to look on the periphery for answers.
posted by chewatadistance 29 September | 14:08
I live on the periphery. It's not that bad a neighborhood.

The next poster will be breathing a big sigh of relief in 5... 4... 3...

I originally typed "poser" instead of "poster"... but then, what IS the difference?

The next poster will have a sudden insight and unexpected clarity of vision.

The next poster will find $20 in their coat pocket once the weather changes.

Hell yeah!

The next poster will be lovingly rubbed upon by a cat sometime later today.
posted by mudpuppie 29 September | 15:39
That's pretty much all that rubs on me these days.

The next poster must be careful not to use those powers for evil instead of good.
posted by JanetLand 29 September | 15:46
Hell no!

The next poster will sleep like a baby tonight.
posted by ThePinkSuperhero 29 September | 15:53
Thank goodness. Slept lousy last night.

The next poster will find that talk is not cheap.

How'd you know I got my semester classes invoice today?

The next poster will discover a thing of beauty in an unexpected place.

Unexpected beauty is the best kind.

May the Galactic Wizard take you on a tour of the galaxy. (real fortune, btw).

posted by doctor_negative 29 September | 17:16
Galactic Wizard, I'm ready for you!

You light up the room, next poster!
posted by serazin 29 September | 17:26
Oh, serazin, that's so sweet of you to say.

The next poster will one day accidentally eat a bug. I'm sorry.
posted by brina 29 September | 17:33
I guess I'll be taking one (bug) for the team, but the poster after me will discover a diamond in the rough!
posted by Wolfdog 29 September | 17:59
Literal or figurative diamond?

The next poster will have something returned to him/her that's been sorely missed.
posted by deborah 29 September | 18:04
I'm going to assume that this applies retroactively to me, since I spent all day yesterday trying to figure out in whose office I'd left my notepad, which contained my to-do list. It turned up this morning (after I laid awake last night, retracing my steps once again). A coworker had accidentally grabbed it off of my desk after a meeting.

The next poster is going to have one of the finest meals of their life tomorrow. Please report back.
posted by mudpuppie 29 September | 18:23
I love food, I'm so excited!

The poster after me will find love on Flag Day. They are also known for striking good balance between being responsible and fun-loving. Rock out with your bad self!

The next poster will be kind and receive kindness in return.
posted by jeoc 29 September | 20:04
Thanks jeoc!

The next poster will discover that a previously insurmountable obstacle can be transformed into a tremendous opportunity, with just a little perseverance.
posted by lonefrontranger 29 September | 20:54
