Sad News. [More:]

My oft-mentioned nonno (Italian for grandfather, he was an immigrant) passed away this afternoon of natural causes at the age of 96. I'll be heading up to Vermont for the funeral later this week. He went peacefully and at his age, he had a pretty good run. RIP, Angelo.

I'm so sorry, Jon.

I am so sorry Jon. If you have time and want to go for a beer [or if you need a ride from the train/airport] please drop me an email, I'd be happy to help and I live 20 min from Barre and have a pretty open schedule.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and more than a bit envious that you had such a terrific Nonno in your life. (I never knew my grandparents.) You were lucky to have one another.

I too wish I'd had a grandfather . . . both of mine died when I was still too young to know who they were. I am so glad you had yours, that he went peacefully, and that he lived a long life. Travel safely.

Thanks for all the condolences, and for those of you who mentioned not knowing your grandparents, my Dad's parent's from the Irish wing of the family were both gone by the time i was 7, so I know where you're coming from.

But thanks again.
