What then? Meet Donald Gray Triplett, 77, of Forest, Mississippi. He was the first person ever diagnosed with autism. And his long, happy, surprising life may hold some answers.

I really liked the explanation on how one of the biggest factors in his ability to get along well, in the end, was the acceptance (and strength, as in the ties) of his community. I mean, it's obvious, it makes so much sense.

Also I liked how the article pointed out (in the middle) that education for autistic children should include coping/social skills/social reading as a formal focus because this is what they actually need assistance with, and it's more important than the standard academic goals.
