Musical pony request I drove myself a bit mad on some of our recent threads about next 10 items on the mp3 player, trying to find music I didn't know. Is there any way on those threads to post a link to, at least, a sample of some of the listed music?
We used to have occasional mp3-sharing threads, where folks would generally post links to files they'd uploaded to divshare/rapidshare/megaupload-type sites.

Alternately, I believe last.fm offers streaming samples of quite a few things.

I don't know about everybody, but if you ask, in thread or via email, I'd certainly be glad to either send any files to you or point you in the right direction.

Wow, last.fm even has Tokyo Anal Dynamite. But they seem to want to charge for it. Mine was free.

Of course, any sharing of .mp3 files via MeCha should be restricted to files that can be legally shared ...

Ditto on the legal, but links to teasers and samples on, say, amazon mp3s, last.fm, pandora, bandcamp or iTunes should be legitimate. It's a good idea, if a bit time consuming.

No MP3s are ever shared on MeCha- just links to MP3s that a poster may have found or hosted elsewhere on the internet.

I'm not sure if "via Mecha" includes the email scenario I described, but I have no qualms about sharing links to any sort of downloads that way.

I'd so appreciate it. I ate up hours and hours (due to being somewhat obsessive when on the trail) trying to find many of these.

Most, if not all, of the odd music I have is courtesy of the MeChazens. Also, it used to be much easier for me to get those files from the work computer to home, thanks to thumb drives.

Now? It's a PITA.

Where did I put my driver's license? || I got played for a fool, and I liked it.
